After graduating May 2005, I spent a summer internship at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals in CT. I then started working towards a PhD in Biology at Wesleyan University. I am currently in my 4th year at Wesleyan, officially a PhD candidate, working in Dr. Laura Grabel's lab. My project involves deriving GABAergic interneurons from embryonic stem cells as well as transplanting ES derived neural stem cells into a mouse model of temporal lobe epilepsy. We are investigating functional incorporation of our transplanted cells into the mouse hippocampus.
