After graduation I worked as a NOAA northeast fisheries observer for AIS in New Bedford. In the Summer of 2006 I began my masters degree in water resources science (aquatic biology track) studying the reproductive effects of behaviorally mediated exposure to environmental estrogens from wastewater treatment plant effluent on fathead minnows at the University of Minnesota. In August of 2008 I started a contract position for the EPA in Gulf Breeze, Florida (part of the office of research and development). Here I am working with the proteomics team to identify protein biomarkers for EDC MOAs in rainbow trout and sheepshead minnow. I recently started my own project here to develop a method to identify protein biomarkers in liver tissue using Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization(MALDI-TOF-MS) and Surfance Enhanced Laser Desorption Ionization (SELDI-TOF-MS) technology. After my contract runs out in 2010 I plan on going to UF for my PhD.
