I currently work as an environmental scientist for an environmental consulting and engineering firm in Raleigh, NC. Most of my job involves monitoring and remediating fuel spills at gas stations and terminals. I work side-by-side with the NC Department of Environmental & Natural Resources (NCDENR) to clean up petroleum spills to state standards and regulations. I spend a lot of time at gas stations collecting groundwater and soil samples and then presenting the results in various reports.

It may not be marine biology-related but I do enjoy my job and the positive impact it has on the environment. Eventually I'd love to get back into marine bio/oceanography but for now I'll take a stable job with a good future!
